Bio

Renée has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.  She has worked both on-site and in the office for building projects ranging from low-budget remodels to multi-million dollar, government contracts.

In short, she knows the “not-very-green” building world inside and out.

Her focus in recent years has been on learning and sharing the benefits of building green.  She is an expert who “trains the trainers” in this field and in recognition of her continued work in sustainable building, Renée received the Sierra Deep Ecology Institute’s “Green Builder of the Year Award” for 2008.

Renée Knows that with the right information and planning we can produce buildings that give more than they take—buildings that conserve energy and resources while providing for the comfort and health of the people who occupy them.

But beyond her intellectual expertise, Renée’s heart is in the green building industry.  In her own words, she is “A Tree-Huggin’ Dirt Lover.”  She feels most at home among the Redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains of California.  Her core values include true sustainability, honoring the earth and its resources, and the principles of permaculture.
